There are many social service agencies that are run nationwide as well as on a state and local level. Some of the services are for profit and others are non-profit organizations. The general public thinks of food, rent money or cash grants when they hear about social services, but there are many other programs that are available to help people. There are services related to physical as well as mental health care. Many of the large non-profit organizations have enough connections to keep their organizations going. Most are governed by a board of directors made up of business people, physicians, and lawyers as well as government officials. The car donation tax deduction program is a great service because the donor gets a tax right off, the recipient gets a vehicle that is reliable and the mechanics get a vehicle to work on as part of their education. If you do not need the money that you get from a trade-in, seriously consider donating your car to a charitable organization.
